Island hopping on South Funen

The island of 2 square kilometers and 31 inhabitants has both a Bed & Breakfast and summer café during the summer period, as well as a place where you can taste the famous local Skarø ice cream. An island hop to Langeland is a unique experience, and with frequent bus services it's easy to get to and from the island.

With its 88 square kilometers and approx. 6000 inhabitants, you could hardly call Ærø one of the small islands in the South Funen Archipelago. The island's rich cultural life, vibrant villages and not least the fantastic nature along the rocky coastline make Ærø a sure winner for any island hopping in South Funen. Like many of the other islands in the archipelago, Ærø has a rich bird life, and on the island hopping trip you can encounter snipe, sandpipers and sandpipers. On the island you can find small cafés and eateries, and there are also plenty of opportunities for hiking on the island's many footpaths. Due to the size of the island, it's a good idea to bring a bike, but you can also take advantage of free buses throughout the summer period.
